All paintings are acrylic on stretched, mounted & gallery wrapped canvas. “Gallery wrapped” means that the staples are on the back, and the painting extends to the edges and wraps around the canvas. The canvas is a minimum of 1.5″ thick and looks great unframed. You may also have your painting professionally framed if you prefer.
All illustrations are hand drawn, scanned & digitally painted, then printed as a giclee on fine art paper or canvas. Paper giclees are matted in white with a backing board, in acid free clear envelopes, and they come in standard sizes that are easy to frame. Canvas giclees are stretched, mounted and gallery wrapped. No frame is necessary for canvas, but you may have it professionally framed if you prefer.
What is a giclee?
Giclee (zhee-klay) – the French word “giclée” is a feminine noun that means a spray or a spurt of liquid. Images are generated from high resolution digital scans of the original artwork and printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates, including canvas and fine art paper. The giclee printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction. Giclees are also used as a means to create limited editions of digital paintings & illustrations.
All 8 x 10 limited edition paper giclees are printed on fine art paper and have an image size of 8 x 10 and are matted with an 11 x 14 matte and backing board suitable for a standard 11 x 14 frame. So the overall size of your artwork will be 11 x 14 plus the size of your frame.
Canvas giclees are stretched, mounted and gallery wrapped. No frame is necessary for canvas, but you may have it professionally framed if you prefer.
